Traditional Sweat Lodge

We are honored to have a traditional lodge leader, Dan Gorbunow work with us to establish and offer this experience at Hay River FireHaven. The sweat lodge is a dome-shaped, natural structure used by Indigenous peoples for purification, healing, and spiritual practices, often involving heated rocks and water to create steam. The Sweat Lodge has been called “the most powerful structure in the world.”

We're so excited to be able to offer this to the community. Our first ceremony will be on May 17th and we should be able to schedule a few each year if we get enough interest. Building will start around Earth Day in April, so come check it out. See the events page to sign up.
